An Impact Report Covering 20 Years
In 2021, ELDI reached out to Shift with interest in building a 20-year report that would showcase the impact of their work within the East Liberty community, including both the successes and the lessons learned.

The 65-page report spares no detail and is packed full of custom photography, historic photos, charts, maps, and more.

PAFI
The core of the report explains ELDI’s process of PAFI—Plan, Advocate, Facilitate, and Invest—with the intention that other community development organizations could use this report as a guide for their own neighborhoods.

Much of the content produced by the ELDI team lent itself well to a diagram format. When longer sections of text were required to tell a complete story, photography was carefully integrated to aid in providing the reader with a clearer picture.

Housing & Commercial Development Maps
A gatefold map was created for the center of the book to help readers understand the amount of growth ELDI has facilitated over the past few decades, both commercially and residentially.

Looking Forward
The report concluded with several topics, including impact on the community, lessons learned throughout the years, viewpoints from legacy businesses that have been in operation for decades, and finally, what the future holds for ELDI.

Following the printing of the report by Broudy Printing Inc., the ELDI team hosted a report launch party at the Maverick Hotel in East Liberty with community members and people they’ve collaborated with over the years. Shift created a series of display boards for the event, referencing some of the most important content from the report.

The report was also made available digitally on ELDI’s website and introduced on its social media channels.
